From 1900 m to 3905 m a.s.l. the summer holiday area in Solda South Tyrol has everything that walkers and climbers could desire. The Dolomites are not really in Solda but the rugged peaks of the Ortler Range have earned recognition as a world heritage site.
With the bizarre peaks of this range, the vast planes and the varied mountain landscape there are a multitude of activities
to try on your holiday.
WALKING
Solda is real mountain country, especially on foot. After a hearty breakfast at Alois and Audrey’s , just step outside the Aster Residence and the rest will just happen: pleasant walks on medium altitude slopes, various excursions to the numerous mountain huts and more demanding hikes in the mountains (Rifugio Payer, Rifugio del Coston, Rifugio Nino Corsi). This is the ideal place for excursions of varying duration and difficulty. Walking in the summer in the mountains in Solda, South Tyrol will show you a new side to summer activities.
HIKING IN THE MOUNTAINS
The 3000 metres mountains – Ortler-Cevedale, Gran Zebrù, Angelo Grande and Croda di Cengles – are there to greet you when you step outside the Aster Residence. Hiking boots and socks, rucksack on your back with a healthy snack and you’re away. The peaks have never been closer. There are lots of other interesting peaks to discover in the area which can be reached quickly and easily from the Aster Residence. If you are planning on conquering the mountains and trekking to the summit we recommend you consult a local mountain guide. From the mountain summits you can also admire the view right down to the lagoon city of Venice which is just a stone’s throw away if you want to go there on a day trip.
